Welcome to Camping Le Royannais, an eco-responsible haven of peace located in the South-West of France, between the Garonne estuary and the Atlantic Ocean, at Le Verdon-sur-Mer. We are proud to offer you a vacation that respects your ecological convictions while providing you with optimum comfort.
Nature-oriented camping
At Camping Le Royannais, we offer you an exceptional natural setting where preserving the environment is a priority. Nestled on 3 hectares of land, our family campsite values nature and practices eco-responsible water management. You can spend a vacation in harmony with your ecological values, while enjoying the natural beauty of the South-West and the proximity of the ocean.
Bio-waste management
Our commitment to ecology is particularly evident in our management of bio-waste. As a Master Composter, Pascal Saurais, our manager, organizes training courses in low season to teach bio-waste management. In application of the AGEC law, from January 2024 every camper will receive a bio-bucket on arrival to sort food waste. The composter located near reception allows you to deposit this organic waste, which is then covered with wood shavings to facilitate composting. We accept fruit, vegetable, meat and fish waste in moderate quantities. A water point is available for rinsing buckets, and we encourage our visitors to follow these practices to ensure odor- and rodent-free composting.
Our ecological approach combined with comfort
Le Royannais combines comfort and respect for the environment. Situated between the Garonne estuary and the ocean, our campsite features a swimming pool heated by solar panels, offering you eco-responsible relaxation. We offer a variety of wooden chalets and mobile homes, each adapted to different needs in terms of size and comfort. You’ll find the perfect accommodation for your vacation, while helping to protect the environment.
We have long been aware of the ecological impact of our business. Our aim is not to ride a media trend, but to combine tourism with respect for the environment. We are constantly improving our practices and encouraging our visitors to adopt an eco-responsible attitude. We distribute our environmental charter to all new arrivals and encourage the use of organic and eco-friendly products. Our electric vehicles, eco-labelled cleaning products and solar hot water demonstrate our commitment to sustainable operations.
Ecological innovations for unusual and accessible accommodation
Since 2011, we have introduced a number of innovations to reinforce our commitment to the environment. We have built rental chalets from eco-friendly materials and with disabled access. By joining the 1% for the Planet Club, we donate a portion of our sales to environmental associations. In 2013, we installed tipis on stilts with dry toilets to offer unusual, eco-friendly accommodation. In 2015, we were awarded the Clef Verte label and are now working towards the European ecolabel. We have chosen ENERCOOP as our electricity supplier, guaranteeing environmentally-friendly energy.
Our unusual accommodations, such as tipis on stilts, offer a unique experience in the heart of nature. We also have mobile homes adapted for people with reduced mobility, with special facilities for their comfort. We are also involved in eco-responsible projects, such as the creation of an ecosite with an animal farm and permaculture planters. We offer special rates to hikers and cyclists to encourage low-carbon modes of transport. What’s more, we’re committed to cleaning up the surrounding beaches to preserve our natural environment.
Our contribution to NGOs
Some ten years ago, we decided to commit our campsite to the fight to preserve the environment, and to this end we became involved in sponsoring ecological associations.
We began by helping the SURVIVAL association, which defends the rights of indigenous peoples (Amazonian Indians, natives of Indonesia, Africa, etc.).
We then joined the 1% for the Planet club, whose members pledge to donate one percent of their sales to associations working to preserve the environment.
This commitment has enabled us to support the following associations:
- SEASHEPHERD dedicated to protecting the marine environment
- The Colibris movement whose motto is “Do your part”.
- SUR LA PISTE, which installed solar cookers in sub-Saharan Africa to limit deforestation.
- COMPOSTING which aims to raise awareness of sustainable development through the promotion of composting.
- BLOOM a marine conservation organization
Our commitment continues…
Our approach is continuous, open and enriched by your suggestions. Please use our contact form to get in touch with us.
If you choose to spend your vacation with us, we hope it will be for all these reasons.
Conscienvironnementalement vôtre.
